About Tottenham

Tottenham is a community in New Tecumseth of Simcoe County. It was founded in the 1820s and became incorporated as the Village of Tottenham in 1884. Unfortunately, there was a massive fire destroying 80 buildings in 1895 though fortunately no lives were lost during the blaze. In 1991, Tottenham joined the communities of Alliston, Beeton and Tecumseth and formed the township of New Tecumseth. Central Tottenham is still very much a little hamlet with very few shops and places to eat, however, there is quick access to Alliston, Bolton and Orangeville where you will find all your amenities. You can also access the larger cities via Highway 400. Tottenham continues to be an economical place to live with the core encompassing vast areas of townhouses, semi-detached homes and detached homes on mature larger lots. The outskirt of Tottenham is expanding with luxurious estate homes.

Note: Tottenham is a part of the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority
